Social Psychology
Scenario:
Social psychology is the branch of psychology that seeks to explain how we are influenced by
others, and how we influence them. It studies how people’s thoughts, feelings and behaviour
are affected by the presence of others. Focus can either be upon how others affect an individual
or upon group interactions. The social psychology topic we are investigating is social influence –
how individuals affect and are affected by others. In particular, how theories of social influence,
and studies of conformity and obedience explain human behaviour, and whether the
understanding from them outweighs the ethical concerns that many of the studies raise.
The learning criteria and grading criteria set by Open College Network. The assessment criteria
is covered in each task.
