Read the “Redfin” case and carefully review all the exhibits that accompany the case. Your writeup should only use the information provided in the case.

Redfin is an online real estate company that has been growing fast, has had a successful IPO, but is yet to turn a profit. You have been hired as a consultant to advise the CEO and top management of Redfin on what should be the strategy of Redfin going forward.

You thus need to develop a proposal that

a) Clearly identify the industry that Redfin belongs to, the different ways in which the industry boundaries can be defined, and its key competitors.

b) Examines the strengths and weaknesses of Redfin (at least three each) in terms of future opportunities and threats Redfin’s strengths and weaknesses should be defined in terms of the present and the future (unless you believe there will no significant changes in the future).

c) Provide a representation of Redfin’s business model, being explicit in describing the customer value concept, the revenue streams and the cost streams.

d) Identify three (3) different strategic alternatives available to Redfin and assesses the pros and cons of each. Made a recommendation. Make sure this part of the analysis is tied to the business model defined above.
