Patient Portal

Question

For your final project, imagine yourself an administrator, either at your current organization, and organization you previously worked at, or a theoretical organization you would like to work at in the context of this assignment.  Choose one of the topics (Patient Portal) we learned about or any healthcare technology that would be pertinent to your organization and develop a project and implementation plan for your organization around your chosen topic.  The goal of the project is to prepare you to identify real-world technology solutions, using the knowledge you've gained in this course, and apply them to real-world health care problems.

Define the scope of the project.  What is the project?  What types of resources are needed to implement it?  How long might it take?  What are the milestones?

Identify the rationale behind the project.  Who will benefit from it?  The patients?  The organization?  How will they benefit?  What problem(s) are you trying to solve?

Identify personnel involved.  Who are the key stakeholders?  Who is on your project team and why?

Identify and describe the expected outcomes/benefits.  Identify the measures you'll use to gauge the success of the project.  What are the measures?

Identify the barriers or resistance you might encounter and your plan to overcome it.  Are these internal or external barriers?  Which ones can you control, which ones will you need to work around?

The final project will be graded based on the HLTH760 Final Project Rubric.
