Nonverbal Communication makes up 93% of our communication, making it critical that we understand how it impacts us as speakers, as well as audience members. For this essay assignment, you are expected to analyze as well as compare and contrast the two speeches listed below- JFK’s Inaugural Address and MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech, based on their use of verbal communication (speech structure, word choice, etc.) and nonverbal communication, focusing on kinesics and paralanguage. You should use specifics from the speeches to support your claims.

The essay is to be informative and objective. Your essay should have an introduction (AGD, thesis, main points), body and conclusion. You should use sources to support your analysis. This essay should also include ways in which each speaker could have improved on these skills. Feel free to add any other information that is relevant for your topic.
The essay is to be 5 page (not including cover page and reference page)
A minimum of 7 sources is REQUIRED. 2 sources are the speeches, then there are 3 for you to find that help support your analysis. (Sources must be cited in the essay.)
MLA formatted work cited page is REQUIRED.
Please be sure to provide a short insight into each speaker then analyze the verbal communication aspect (language, word choice, use of metaphor, alliteration, etc) AND nonverbal aspects (use of voice (paralanguage), eye contact, hand gestures, appearance, etc.) of each speech, as well as provide TWO pieces of constructive criticism for each speaker. Please be sure to use proper essay format- intro, body, conclusion and use specific examples from the speeches to support your claims.
