FINAL PAPER WORTH 25 POINTS

Please answer the following question in three paragraphs:

In what ways does the Harlem Renaissance inspire you personally, politically, and

professionally?

*All work must be double-spaced in Times New Roman 12 font.

*All pages must be numbered on the bottom right.

*The paper must have an original title.

*The title of your paper should not bolded, italicized, underlined, written in all capital

letters, or in quotation marks.

*All paragraphs must be indented.

*Check your spelling and proofread your work for typos.

*The paper must include the proper heading. I provided a sample paper for you that

shows the proper heading in Course Content in Week 13.

***********************************************************************

Devote one paragraph (seven-to-nine sentences long) to each category (personal,

political, professional).

You need to be specific about the ways that the Harlem Renaissance inspires you

personally, politically, and professionally. For example, perhaps the ways that Zora Neale

Hurston wrote about the specific issues that Black women faced in the 1930s inspires you

personally to be true to yourself and never compromise. You will need to provide an

example from Hurston’s work (the short stories or the films) of how she or her characters

were true to themselves, and then provide an example in your own life of how you are

true to yourself. You will need to do the same thing when you talk about how the Harlem

Renaissance inspires you politically and professionally.

This is your final paper which means this is your last chance to show me all the ways

you’ve grown intellectually over the last four months. There will be no revisions to this

paper. I will not make comments on this last paper because the turn around to get the

grades in is too quick. NO LATE PAPERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

You will lose points if the “B” in “Black” isn’t capitalized. You will receive a 0 if the

assignment isn’t followed with no chance to rewrite it. You will lose points if your

paragraphs are less then seven sentences long, and if your sentences aren’t written at the

level of a first or second year college student. You will lose points if the format is not

correct (I laid out the only acceptable format above and I provided a sample of said

format in Course Content, Week 13, under “Sample Paper”).

The final paper is due on Monday, 24 May, by midnight, on Blackboard. Again, NO

LATE PAPERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

If you have any questions or concerns about the final please email me immediately so I

can address them with you. Waiting until the last minute to ask me questions about the

final is not an option. I will be reading your papers immediately and turning the grades in

on 25 May.

I’m looking forward to reading these last essays from you all.
