Discuss the Persian War. How did it begin, and who was involved on each side? What were the important battles? How were the Greeks able to exploit every advantage they had in what seemed like a hopeless situation to actually achieve victory?

Discuss the exploits of Alexander the Great. How did he come to power? What were some of his important battles, and how did he achieve victory? What areas of the world did he conquer? How did he differ from other conquerors that lived prior to him? In other words, what exactly was it that made him “great”?
