Describe the process of socialization and our main agents of socialization. Why are families often called the primary agent of socialization? Some sociologists have argued that the media now should also be considered a primary agent of socialization. What might be some of the pros to children being exposed to forms of media (TV, Internet, social media, etc.) at a very young age? What about cons? In this day and age, do you personally think that the media plays as important a role in teaching children values, beliefs, and norms at a young age as their own parents?
