In our Week 4 discussion forum, we identified the general trends in our industry that are likely to impact current and future strategies. This week we will look at communication trends, focusing specifically on social media. Communication though social media websites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and YouTube is a phenomenon that has become an essential piece of nearly every organization's overall communication strategy. Organizations are now taking advantage of this external opportunity in an effort to reach new markets and communicate more effectively with current and potential consumers. The purpose of this activity is to explore this trend as a strategic opportunity for an organization.
