Final Take-Home Assignment

Please answer any ONE of the following questions. Your answers should be between 1000 and

1500 words (not including bibliography). Answers must demonstrate a solid understanding of

key concepts discussed over the semester while effectively identifying key arguments through

in-text citations. Students are NOT required to cite sources beyond the required course readings

1. Write a critical review outlining the main points of any FIVE readings posted on Moodle

or linked on syllabus this semester. When considered together, what message can they

tell us about the state of politics in Canada?

2. Drawing on the readings and notes covered in the second half of the course (February 16

– April 8), outline FIVE themes that shape Canada’s liberal democratic system.

3. How do business groups have more influence than other kinds of groups? Do they have

too much?

4. What types of pressures exist for Canada in developing an independent foreign policy?
